Stefano De Pieri Wines
Most of you know me as the Cellar Director of David Jones Wine Club. Many of you are familiar with my role as the Chef in the TV series, “A Gondala on the Murray”. You may have read, and used, some of my recipes, or visited my restaurant in Mildura. Being Italian, naturally I love food and wine. I also love new flavours and textures, and unusual grape varieties. From this I helped initiate the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show to encourage and promote them. I have now released a range of wines under my own label Stefano de Pieri which promotes the use of unusual grape varietals and blends. The logo is based on the renowned Murray Cod which heralds from my home region of Mildura. Here it is transformed into a mythological creature that appears to be part fish - part bird. It is evocative of the legends that infuse the Murray River and its environs.
